5 Leaves Left

To say it is fall here, is to say that it is summer at the north pole. Unthinkable.
The trees are all green and it was hot today. Somehow though, it is as if the world knows its fall and there are leaves on the ground and squirrels gatherings pine nuts for winter (do we even have a winter?). The earth continues as if there are seasons even though there are not.

This leaf was my favorite. Its as if it couldn't decide to stay green or change. It finally decided it could do both.

When the day is done
Down to earth then sinks the sun
Along with everything that was lost and won
When the day is done.

Cosmia

And all those lonely nights down by the river
brought me bread and water, water in
But though I tried so hard my little darling
I couldn't keep the night from coming in

and all those lonely nights down by the river
I was brought my bread and water by the kith and the kin
now in the quiet hour when I am sleepin'
I cannot keep the night from comin' in

beneath the porch light, we've all been circling
beat our dust hearts, singe our flour wings
but in the corner, something is happening!
wild Cosmia, what have you seen?

What is a Boginka?

Boginka is Polish for "Little Goddess". Boginki were said to be covens of old women that would preform sacrifices and rituals for river nymphs. Supposedly the Boginki would steal babies from their human mothers and replace them with changelings. Boginki are supposedly the original deities of life.

Now you know a little about what I'm all about. Not stealing babies, but living in a world of mythological creatures of sorts.
