I grew up in Palm Springs, CA. I grew up an only child, and my parents and I traveled a lot. I met my husband while I was in college and we got married 7 years later.
After college, I became a preschool teacher in Venice, CA. I taught 3-5 year olds for 2 years, and 2-3 year olds for 4 years. This is something I really enjoyed doing because the school that I worked at was Reggio inspired. I loved helping the kids get messy, watching them run around free with barely any clothes on, and taking spontaneous trips to the beach.
Here is me in my classroom a LONG time ago.
While teaching, I also started crafting at home. I grew up watching my mom sew and knit, so I was always interested in DIY projects. It was hard to find my niche, but after teaching kids I was asked to make a few things for new babies, so it was easy to fall into making baby things!
Recently, my husband and I moved to Orange County from Los Angeles so he could pursue his dream job making video games. Right after we moved, I got a job teaching preschool again, and I also got pregnant. I taught 2-5 year olds in a Montessori setting for one school year, and currently, I am a stay-at-home mom of a baby boy, Griffin.
I started this blog in 2009 as a hobby during my free time. Over the years it has turned into much more. I write about my family, nature, baby gear, fun things to do with kids, gardening, cooking, and home life in general.
It is our dream to have a hom in the woods one day with a stream in the yard somewhere in the Pacific Northwest. My husband wants to become a craft brewer, and I a farmer. I want to own a small farm and invite schools to come on field trips to learn about self sustainable gardening and how to take care of animals on a small scale.
