I decided last weekend to make this recipe out of the latest issue of MS Living magazine.
You will need:
For apples:
1/3 cup sugar
1 tbsp water
3 granny smiths
for cake:
2 sticks room temp unsalted butter
3 cups flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
3/4 tsp nutmeg
3/4 tsp grated ginger
coarse salt
1 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
3 large eggs
1/2 cup whole milk
for glaze:
1 1/2 cups confectioners sugar
3 tbsp apple cider
The original recipe calls for walnuts, which I omitted.
